Who We Are
We are an intentional community focused on the care and well-being of each of our members and the greater community in which we live. We are a diverse group with concerns about climate change including climate justice, interested in self-sufficiency, permaculture, forest gardening, regenerative organic agriculture, adaptation & spiritual awareness. Our community is for people of all faiths and beliefs grounded in acceptance and the importance of honouring differences. We embrace established Quaker values.
Where we live
Friendship Cohousing is a private company founded by our members who acquired this former Rectory known as Maningham, in 2021. As a relatively new community we continue to discover, explore and learn from each other and from the land we care for. We are learning and growing as individuals and as a community each and every day.
Each member, by paying a licence fee, has the private use of at least one (or more) rooms, and shares the use of the remaining parts (40%) of the property with the other members. Together, we form one large household, spread between the main house plus adjacent ancillary buildings.
Members who can contribute a capital loan (linked to property values), benefit from a reduced monthly fee, but all our members help with running and maintaining Maningham, including paying towards household expenses.
Where is Maningham?
Maningham is adjacent to St. Illogan Church (where there is a bus-stop), five minutes by car (2 miles) from the A30 and ten minutes (2.8 miles) from Redruth railway station, and 40 minutes (24 miles) from Newquay airport.
Maningham is 14 miles from Truro where there is a cathedral and large hospital, and over 60 miles from Plymouth, the nearest large city.

- After some initial getting to know each other we look to invite mutually interested parties to visit us at one of our Enquirers Weekends, which are held every 3 or 4 months. If you would like to attend an Enquirers Weekend, please contact us for further information.
